well youve come to the right place mate. there are some absolutly great tinca minds on here. im still a newbie compared but i can offer you some advice that these lot have given me.

partcles are always good to start with. don't be afraid to drift away from a "tenchy looking swim", they can be anyware when they want to feed. have u tried racking a swim? always a gd idea on any days fishing to encourage tench into a swim.

as for rigs go it really does depend on the kind of bait your fishing and the kind of swim. if possible chopped worm, maggot, caster or corn on the float over a bed of crumb, hemp, caster, corn, maggot, or pellet will always be a good start.

if you have a weedy bottom try a helicopter rig to kep the bait fre from weed. if not then an open end or flat lead feeder with about a foot long hooklink is a comon simple method of fishing for them.
