How mobile are you on a 2 nighter session? Ive been finding that the baited spots seem to fish a little better on the second morning of a two nighter, but if
they arent showing much then they might not be infront of you. I prefer to stay put, but i could be missing out on oportunites elsewhere! Do you tend to stay
put if the first day is quiet, or up sticks and do one night and morning in a different area?

Yeah,i'd always be prepared to move nowadays,unless there was a very good reason to stay put i.e obvious signs of fish in the area but no bites.
Sitting in a bivvy in a barren swim for two days on the off chance of a fish turning up is no sort fun ! |

By the time i've carried all my stuff round i'm ready to pass out.......the idea of moving without the aid of a helicopter scares me
This does limit me i know but i've done so much walking fishing rivers that i need a brake

Darren, like the question Iasked about how do you decide what tactics to use, this is the same mate and for carping, I had halve a clue. It was a gut feeling
that you got after taking into account what you had seen elsewhere, bites, line bites etc etc and even then, maybe over the course of a year it would balance
out evens. You seem to only remember the times that you got it right not the times it went against you like the time I moved from one end of the Manor in Essex
to the other after 2 nights and one 22lber, only to have someone drop in the now vacant swim and banked the 'Annie' at her first time at 40lbs before I
even got any baits into the water!!
Did I take some stick over that decision!!!!!!! I'm sure that if you start to think you should be moving, then something is not right and you should do it. Why can't tench be more predictable like carp??? |

Depends, just done two days.I stuck it out in one swim because I knew they were not feeding anywhere but the swim had all the things going for it that should
have meant catching a few IF they were feeding.They started rolling and tail slapping this morning and sure enough a few were caught after 36 hours of zilch.If
I thought I was in a swim devoid of fish but they were feeding elsewhere i would up sticks in a flash otherwise it is called camping. There would be no
guesswork though, it would be based on the Tench telling me where to fish by rolling etc.
