2nd April. Just went fishing in the vain hope of catching a tench, and really to do an early season reccy. The water I fish is an average 12ft deep so thought it would still be too cold. Got there early looking for tell tail signs, wind was blowing so just got snuggled up out of it. Groundbait feeder 4in hook length red maggots on the hook real and fake, chucked in sat back. After several fruitless hours losing hope BEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEP Yahooo, were off I picked the rod up and it just lurched around I was into a TINCA. Not the biggest I have ever caught but the most eagerly awaited one. After a couple of minutes and a few thunderouse charges it was into the net, 4lb10oz a beautifull olive and gold female in superb condition. The only one of the day but a day well spent.
Been a couple of times scince CRAPE but not long now I hope lol.
