Leybourne comprises several lakes: The Road (Pub) Lake, Island Lake, The Railway, Larkfield 2 and No 1 (The Ocean). All are known for big tench and big old carp. The Road and Island are particularly famous in carp and tench fishing history - the Road and Island were one of the first lakes that Fred Wilton tried his High Protein bait theory on.
As usual, the biggest bone of contention is litter, but anglers are paying the lions share for access and then finding that tehy have very limited access and car parking.
It really looks like there won't be any tenching on the Road Lake at least. I gutted. I love the place.
I wondered if any of you few (You Very Few.....) had heard about this AND is this discussed on The Tenchfishers forums???? (I guess I'm gonna have to join....)
