Hows about the good old Fens Pools mate. Ok, its not the nicest place in the world but theres some good `uns in there.
What sort of size fish are you looking for? I know a water that does a good few fives and sixes and definitely has much bigger but it is slow going in the day. ![]() |

Dudmaston Hall. Controlled by the Kinver Freeliners just outside Bridgnorth. Big head of tench in the 4 to 5 lb bracket with the odd 6, 7 or bigger.Check out the website it in tfw links. There is also an article on the lake in Improve your couse fishing this month.Me and my mate Steve did it for IYCF.

To be honest I have never fished it as there are much more picturesque waters closer to home. I went for a look. You can clearly see the power station and pylons down one side of the lake. On the plus side you can drive down to the water on one side. Very little on the PAAS message boards about Wade. What there is make it out to be very tough and weedy in Summer.
If I am going to travel that far I would prefer to try Marbury Mere. Now that does look awsome, and a tench venue too! If I live closer to Wade I would fish it. I will travel for decent tench. Big Sandiway is cracking and Rixton prolific but dodgy with litter etc. Pale tench in Rixton and not too big but plenty of em. Giving Warrington a rest for a while. Very tempted to try Lymmvle, but cant justify SOTAS,PASS and Lymm. |

Just looking in from the anglers talk site and noticed this one,....right on my door step this mate...try Himley Hall...not sure if this is the right time
though bit on the cold side now...remember Matt Hayes and the great rod race catching tench there and i have caught plenty as well but it was in the summer
time though on worm....the carp guys pick up on a lot of Tench 7/8lb so good fish mate but it is a hard venue to fish...if you do go then try pegs 15/16 thats
the deep water there and thats were they will be at this time of year but spring is the time and don't bother in the close season because it applies there
as well

Have you tried the farmers pool at warrens hall stables of the oakham road in tivdale, park at the back of the home and walk behind stables and down hill.
There are a good head of tench in there but has a litter problem so if you do go can you please remember to take your litter home with you.
Drop me float there.......I'm in............... |
